Youth
Program
Youth programing encompasses students who have completed
grades 6th through 12th. Goals of the program are to:
- Build a positive self-concept by promoting an
understanding and appreciation of Korean culture.
- Provide positive adult models for students by securing
staff whom are both Korean immigrants and Korean adoptees.
- Help students become aware of and address adoption
issues.
- Building lasting friendships between students and
staff.
- Provide a variety of learning styles and
experiences.
- Prepare youth to cope with future challenges.
- Equip parents in becoming aware of adoption issues faced
by their adopted Asian child(ren) and assist parents to cope with these issues
positively.
- Provide an opportunity for families to explore reasons
for making a trip to Korea.

To achieve these goals these programs elements will be
offered: videos and discussion on life in Korea, peer program with younger
children, presentations and discussion with guest speakers, plus
expression through Korean dance Tae Kwon Do and
art. |
KAMP SCHEDULE
Typical Monday-Thursday kamp day:
- 9:00 am - Family oriented opening with sharing about
Korea
- 9:45 - 3:00 - Classes for all ages
At noon a Korean meal is served (included in registration
fee for kampers)
Optional activities are planned for after kamp. These will
be detailed in the registration confirmation letter
FRIDAY KOREAN HERITAGE
FESTIVAL
Friday classes are held in the morning only. A special meal
is served followed by a program highlighting events of the week beginning a 1:30
P.M.. This is an event guests may be invited to. Meal tickets are available for
purchase at kamp.
