Youth Program

Youth programing encompasses students who have completed grades 6th through 12th. Goals of the program are to:

  • Build a positive self-concept by promoting an understanding and appreciation of Korean culture.
  • Provide positive adult models for students by securing staff whom are both Korean immigrants and Korean adoptees.
  • Help students become aware of and address adoption issues.
  • Building lasting friendships between students and staff.
  • Provide a variety of learning styles and experiences.
  • Prepare youth to cope with future challenges.
  • Equip parents in becoming aware of adoption issues faced by their adopted Asian child(ren) and assist parents to cope with these issues positively.
  • Provide an opportunity for families to explore reasons for making a trip to Korea.

To achieve these goals these programs elements will be offered: videos and discussion on life in Korea, peer program with younger children, presentations and discussion with guest speakers, plus expression through Korean dance Tae Kwon Do and art.
